Kelcey Parker Ervick

New Person

Kelcey Parker Ervick is the new name of Kelcey Parker, author of The Bitter Life of Božena Němcová (forthcoming), Liliane’s Balcony, and For Sale By Owner. New name, same person. But feeling kind of like a new person.

Third Person

Kelcey Parker Ervick writes fiction, nonfiction, and nonpoetry.

Second Person

You found a dead bee in the hatch of your car. You felt powerful because it was dead and could not sting you. You put it to your eye to see what you could see. And then one day it died.

First Person

I have a Ph.D. in Creative Writing from a large Midwestern university on a big river. Now I teach on the tenure track of a smaller Midwestern university on the banks of a smaller river. I have more books than children.

My first book, For Sale By Owner (Kore Press), won the 2011 Next Generation Indie Book Award in Short Fiction and was a finalist for the 2012 Best Books of Indiana, Fiction.

My second book, Liliane’s Balcony, was published by Rose Metal Press in 2013. It’s set at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater, and if you could help me get it into the hands of Brad Pitt, I would really appreciate it.

And now a third book is on its way: The Bitter Life of Božena Němcová is forthcoming from Rose Metal Press in fall 2016.
